Postdoc developing metagenome analysis of animal microbiomes

Are you interested in disseminating workflows to different research labs to standardize and streamline microbiome analyses? Do you like working with multidisciplinary groups to understand how an animal’s microbiome can impact phenotype? USDA-ARS has a training opportunity to gain experience with the development of software pipelines for metagenome analysis and pipeline implementation on HPC clusters. Qualifications: The qualified candidate should have received a doctoral degree in a relevant field.

Preferred skills:

  • Some experience in Unix. Experience in programming languages (C/C++, Python, Java) preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and writing ability
  • Basic interest in agriculture research and development of approaches for data analysis of diverse sample types
