Five Faculty Positions in Ocean Science - School of Ocean & Earth Science, University of Southampton

The School of Ocean and Earth Science is based at the National Oceanography Centre Southampton (NOCS), on the University’s Waterfront Campus. NOCS brings together over 500 researchers and support staff drawn from physics, chemistry, biology, geoscience and engineering, and is one of the largest and most successful marine science institutions in the world. We graduate over 250 undergraduate and masters students every year, and our Graduate School numbers over 160 PhD students. Together with our Southampton Marine & Maritime Institute, the Wolfson Unit for Marine Technology and Industrial Aerodynamics, the Institute for Life Sciences and our Institute for Maritime Law, Southampton is world-leading in the marine and maritime sector.

To apply, you’ll need a PhD, or equivalent professional qualifications, and have a growing track record of published research. You should be comfortable presenting your findings at meetings and conferences, coordinating research activities and managing research budgets. You will have a passion for educating the next generation of ocean scientists, with experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.

Positions are available at Level 5 (Lecturer; salary range £39,152 to £49,553) and Level 6 (Associate Professor; salary range £51,034 to £64,145).
