2000mm-300mmCAMECA-Nu-Ametek.jpg

CAMECA manufactures and services high-performance analytical instrumentation and metrology solutions for R&D, production support, and basic earth, materials and life science research. World leader in Electron Probe Micro-Analysis (EPMA), Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS) and Atom Probe Tomography (APT), the recent integration of Nu Instruments into CAMECA has further broadened our product offering with Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), Isotope Ratio as well as Glow Discharge Mass Spectrometry.
Our NanoSIMS 50L ion microprobe performs multiple-mass imaging at 50nm resolution and isotopic ratio measurements with tenth permil reproducibility. In microbial ecology, it excels at coupling in-situ phylogenic identification and measuring single-cell microbial activity and cellular interactions. Methods based on stable isotope labeling (15N, 13C, e.g.) and elemental-FISH can be applied to other cell biology fields.

FEMS Congress 2019 Logo.jpg

8th Congress of European Microbiologists | FEMS 2019  Glasgow 7-11 July
The theme of FEMS 2019 is Building Communities. From specialist groups in emerging topics to advocacy groups promoting public policy, communities are at the basis of developments in microbiology. These diverse communities are based on pursuing a joint goal regardless of their discipline or background: therefore all microbiology disciplines and stakeholders can pick the fruits of our Congress. We believe science, industry and society are strongly linked together. To have a positive impact on the societal challenges of today and tomorrow we need them all. This is the strength of our Congress: our diversity and connectivity.

FEMS is a unique, active and diverse network of around 30,000 professionals who are committed to advancing microbiology for the benefit of society in the areas of health, energy, food, materials and the environment. Set up in the UK as a small charity in 1974, today we are a growing coalition of 52 Member Societies from 37 countries across Europe. Many of those in our network are early career scientists. Others are experienced scientists, business people, students and campaigners.
