The Department of Chemistry and Environmental Science at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is searching for qualified applications for postdoctoral and PhD positions in the areas of biodegradation and bioremediation. Ideal applicants should possess a solid academic background and proficient experience in (1) biodegradation and biotransformation of legacy and emerging pollutants, such as PFAS and 1,4-dioxane, (2) microbial ecology using state-of-the-art high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics, and/or (3) design and operation of bench-scale bioreactors and other biological treatment systems. Applicants with PhD degrees in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, and other relevant disciplines will be preferred. Excellent English communication and writing skills are highly desirable.

The successful candidate is expected to start as soon as September 2023 and will receive competitive monthly wages and benefits. The initial contract is one-year and renewable depending on performance and availability of funding.
