PhD in Computational Biology

Position available at the University of Vienna, Austria

The Genome Evolution and Ecology group from the division of Archaea Biology and Ecogenomics offers one PhD position in computational biology in the project “Evolution of Physiology: The link between Earth and Life” funded by a recently awarded ERC starting grant to Filipa L. Sousa. It will involve extensive comparative genomic and phylogenetic analyses in close context to biological and geological data. This will further contribute to the elucidation of evolution of microbial physiology and diversity.

The PhD position will involve large scale genomic analysis to elucidate how selected bioenergetics solutions have evolved over time.
